MTX Men’s Ministries:
Our men’s ministry seeks to help men build life changing relationships through Christ by helping men to connect, grow and serve in a number of ways.
Events and activities are organized throughout the year that are intended to help men build life changing relationships through purposeful and fun shared experiences. These events include camp-outs, fishing trips, day excursions in our local mountains or to other locations, our annual Men’s Advance in May, special dinners, Saturday morning coffee at Higher Grounds Coffee House, and many others.
Groups designed to help men connect, grow and serve are organized periodically throughout the year and offered at various times of the week. These groups have provided the most effective way for men to develop meaningful friendships, be encouraged and equipped for a more fruitful walk with God, and engaged in loving their family and others around their lives more selflessly.
Training opportunities specifically designed to help men grow in Christ are offered throughout the year, usually in combination with some of the other activities and events. Some of these opportunities are co-ed. This last year, we had our annual Men’s Advance with special guest Tim Truesdale, offered the four-week “Courageous” study, and had men involved in the FamilyLife “Stepping Up” Bible Study. Planning for 2018 is in process.
Opportunities for men to serve God’s purposes are communicated and organized all throughout the year. We participate in the annual Rebuilding Together/Mountain Communities event, the Compton Initiative, and help with projects sponsored through Servants Heart for the Homeless and the Cruz Chacon Foundation in San Bernardino. In addition our men seek to be available to each other and to others in our mountain communities as possible and needed for help with projects.
Much of what helps our ministry among men to be successful requires lots of help in the background in support of other events, groups and activities. From the Men’s Ministry Planning Team to Special Teams organized for specific activities and events, there is always a way to be involved. For information about how to help, contact Tim, our Men’s Ministry Director.
LIFE Lines are ways that men can be there to help others in times of need. We have men who are sponsors to men going through recovery, others who are organized into prayer teams, and still others who team up to meet a special need for someone in crisis. We seek to be a Band of Brothers to each other and to team up together to help others around our lives as possible.
