MTX Men’s Ministries:

Our men’s ministry seeks to help men build life changing relationships through Christ by helping men to connect, grow and serve in a number of ways.

Events:

Events and activities are organized throughout the year that are intended to help men build life changing relationships through purposeful and fun shared experiences.  These events include camp-outs, fishing trips, day excursions in our local mountains or to other locations, our annual Men’s Advance in May, special dinners, Saturday morning coffee at Higher Grounds Coffee House, and many others.

Groups:

Groups designed to help men connect, grow and serve are organized periodically throughout the year and offered at various times of the week.  These groups have provided the most effective way for men to develop meaningful friendships, be encouraged and equipped for a more fruitful walk with God, and engaged in loving their family and others around their lives more selflessly.

Training:

Training opportunities specifically designed to help men grow in Christ are offered throughout the year, usually in combination with some of the other activities and events. Some of these opportunities are co-ed.  This last year, we had our annual Men’s Advance with special guest Tim Truesdale, offered the four-week “Courageous” study, and had men involved in the FamilyLife “Stepping Up” Bible Study.  Planning for 2018 is in process.

Service:

Opportunities for men to serve God’s purposes are communicated and organized all throughout the year.  We participate in the annual Rebuilding Together/Mountain Communities event, the Compton Initiative, and help with projects sponsored through Servants Heart for the Homeless and the Cruz Chacon Foundation in San Bernardino.  In addition our men seek to be available to each other and to others in our mountain communities as possible and needed for help with projects.

Church Wide Mission Trip, through our partnership with Turn the Hearts ministry in Mexico that is assisting orphanages, our teens and parents have the opportunity for a cross-cultural mission experience and team building.  We make 3 to 4 trips per year where we visit orphanages and pass out gifts in Christ’s name to the less fortunate. **Our next trip will be December 27-30!**  This trip will be offered to youth and adults.  This trip will be a missions trip and retreat with the theme of “Experience More.” Let us know that you want to come by clicking here and filling out this interest form!

Support:

Much of what helps our ministry among men to be successful requires lots of help in the background in support of other events, groups and activities. From the Men’s Ministry Planning Team to Special Teams organized for specific activities and events, there is always a way to be involved.  For information about how to help, contact Tim, our Men’s Ministry Director.

LIFE Lines:

LIFE Lines are ways that men can be there to help others in times of need.  We have men who are sponsors to men going through recovery, others who are organized into prayer teams, and still others who team up to meet a special need for someone in crisis.  We seek to be a Band of Brothers to each other and to team up together to help others around our lives as possible.

Women’s “LIFT” Ministry:

Our “LIFT” women’s ministry seeks to build life changing relationships through Christ by helping women to connect, grow and serve in a number of ways.  “LIFT” stands for “Living In Faith Together.”

Events:

Events and activities are organized throughout the year that are intended to help our members and friends build life changing relationships through purposeful and fun shared experiences.  These events throughout the year may include game nights, the annual Women’s retreat, the annual Women’s Christmas Dinner, women getting together in homes to better know and connect with each other, and other events.  Events are a great way to begin forming connections in a fun and loving atmosphere.

On Saturday October 21 our Women’s “LIFT” Ministry hosted a FAITH: LIFT event on Hebrews 11, with Marilyn Burke as our guest speaker.  If you missed this day retreat or would like to listen and share go here  for  session 1 and here for session 2.

The Annual Women’s Christmas Luncheon “Wondrous Faith” will be held on Saturday December 9 from 12 to 3 p.m.  The tickets are on sale and cost $23.  This is an elegant event were the men of our church serve the women. New location this year: Twin Peaks Christian Conference Center, 26409 CA 189, Twin Peaks, CA 92391.

Groups:

Groups specifically designed to help women connect, grow and serve are organized periodically throughout the year and offered at various times of the week.  There are groups that meet around special needs or interests, to do specific studies from the Bible and other helpful resources, groups for special seasons in life, (like “Mountain Top Moms”), and other groups for support and encouragement.  We also host the Women’s Community Bible Study every fall and spring for structured group Bible study that includes child care and activities for children.

Training:

Training opportunities specifically designed to help women grow in Christ are offered throughout the year, usually in combination with some of the other activities, groups and events. Some of these opportunities are co-ed.  Each year we host a “Day Set Apart” at our property for women to be encouraged, refreshed and equipped in a relevant and meaningful way.  Mentoring and LIFE group relationships are encouraged.  The Annual Women’s Retreat and the many co-ed training classes offered throughout the year provide timely ways to grow in faith, hope and love.

Service:

Opportunities for women to serve God’s purposes are communicated and organized all throughout the year.  These may include organizing to help a family in our network of relationships with meals during a difficult life transition, joining our youth and men on specially scheduled work days, and seeking to be true friends in other practical ways.  The LIFT Women’s Ministry is about “Living in Faith Together.”

Individuals and Families:

Our hope is that everyone will experience Lake Gregory Community Church as their extended family in the Lord. We seek to facilitate that sense of being family by helping individuals and families to connect, grow and serve in a number of ways.

LGCC is a diverse network of people from a variety of backgrounds and in varying seasons of life.  Special teams have or are being organized to address this diversity in relevant and meaningful ways.  Young adult singles, couples and families are always on our hearts as we seek to meaningfully involve the next generations.  But no matter what season a person is in, we hope to connect with each one in a way that helps them to feel seen, valued and loved as a part of this family.  Call us for the latest information on how you and your friends and family can begin a journey of renewal with us!
