Dan's Den
For All In Authority
Dear Church Family and Friends,
The political pendulum in our country predictably swings back and forth. We probably tend to pray more about matters of governance when things are not going in the direction we believe is right. What we often forget is that no matter who is in authority, we are commanded to pray for them and to seek the welfare of the people and the places where we live no matter what. God calls His people as a first priority to pray for all people including those in authority.
Jesus and the Apostles taught us to live our lives under authority as a matter of faith--trusting in Him. As we look to God over those in authority on earth, our faith and heart for people can grow in a healthy direction. We should always be leaning toward the Son of God, Jesus Christ, as our source of life, hope and peace and be actively seeking to help others look to Him as well.
May this Sunday on the weekend following Independence Day in the U.S.A. inspire our trust in the true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent, the one mediator between God and mankind. Our ultimate citizenship is in heaven and we are waiting for our Savior Jesus to come again from there to establish His reign for forever.
Love and prayers,
Pastor Dan
