Desperate Prayer
Dear Church Family and Friends,
King Hezekiah was a really good king that followed and preceded a long line of not good kings. Hezekiah was only 39 years old when he became deathly ill and the prophet Isaiah came to visit Hezekiah and told him he was going to die. The many ways Hezekiah could have responded, Hezekiah chose to humble himself and call on the mercy of God. This was a desperate prayer from a dying man, many of us have been there and perhaps some are there now.
I will share my story and look at how there is no such thing as hopeless with God.
Over 100 years after Hezekiah, Nebuchadnezzar completely destroyed Jerusalem and the temple and enslaved and carried away to Babylon all the treasures of Israel and best of the people and they were enslaved for 70 years. Then came King Cyrus of Persia which conquered Babylon and more of the known world than any king before him. Miraculously God put on Cyrus’s heart to rebuild Jerusalem and the temple and sent back all the captives from Israel and the treasure taken out of God’s temple. Israel and Jerusalem were destroyed and enslaved and in a hopeless situation, but God!
Love and prayers,
