Dan's Den
The Day of the LORD, Preparing for a New Day, part 2, the message of Isaiah.
Dear Church Family and Friends,
Have you ever faced a season of time that was going to be really, really difficult and demanding, but as you looked to the other side of that season you were filled with hope for the restoration of good things in your life and/or family?
"The Day of the LORD" generally refers to a season of time in which God's promised blessings will come to those who are trusting in Him, and that His judgment will be experienced by those who persist in unbelief and rebellion. It is a Day when things are set right. It contains a dual theme of restoration and judgment. The Day of the LORD has already begun to unfold, a season in which God's redemptive purpose will culminate in the return of Jesus Christ and judgment coming on those who refuse to turn and trust in Him. It is a "Day" that is looked forward to by those who believe with anticipation and that is dreaded by others, even if unconsciously, because, "The LORD alone will be exalted on that day." (Isaiah 2:11, 17)
This Sunday, be inspired by the truth of God's good intentions for the "Day of the LORD" and sobered by what it means for those who have rejected his promise. May your inner disposition be helped for whatever you are facing on the road ahead with a hopefulness rooted in a restored relationship with God in Jesus Christ.
Love and prayers,
Pastor Dan
