Idols & Israel’s Savior
Dear Church Family and Friends,
The nation of Israel was challenged with their idolatry when they lost their homeland and their temple was destroyed. The idols they looked to didn’t save them from the Assyrians, and wouldn’t save them from the Babylonians. Though the nation of Israel stumbled as God’s servant (Isaiah 41), the Lord’s servant wouldn’t (Isaiah 42).
“Fear not, for I am with you… I have chosen you and have not rejected you… So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you… I will take hold of your hand…Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you…you are precious and honored in my sight…I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more” are a few of gems we may get to in this message!
Love and prayers,

Dear Church Family and Friends,
- Idols aren’t just statues or carved images; they are anything that takes priority over God or controls our hearts and minds. Idols can take many forms in the 21st century and provide comfort and reassurance– until life happens. How big is your God? How valuable are your idols when your marriage is falling apart, your son is diagnosed with an incurable disease, or your grand kids can’t find stable housing? How can your idols help you with mental health, struggling with singleness or infertility, or job loss?
