Birth of the Savior
Dear Church Family and Friends,
I recently talked with a godly woman about one of the most threatening circumstances she had ever experienced when she was a young adult. It resulted in an inner decision not to trust that anyone would look out for her and protect her. It led her to attempt to control everything she could in life, and the fallout was not good.
Upon further reflection, decades later, it became clear that God was with her in every moment of this fear-filled experience. God had actually orchestrated her protection, provision and everything she needed in that circumstance. It has changed her heart and the depth of her trust in the Lord ever since.
It is nearly impossible to catalogue all the ways God orchestrated the entrance of His Son into this world. The Father sent Jesus into the world on a search and rescue of human hearts. In doing so, He literally coordinated the scenes of the stars, the agenda of nations--even oppressive ones, and down to the details of the very location and time of His appearance among people.
Jesus coming into this world to rescue us was the result of a detailed, highly orchestrated plan of God. This Sunday may you see and be inspired by God's loving purpose and plan beginning to be fulfilled in the way we most needed. May your heart be full and your celebration joyful as you realize what God has done to come and rescue you!
